I have nothing on Reagan and not sure what to make of Steele. Their opener created more questions than it answered. Their opponent wasn't exactly what I would call a great team (or even good) but they were big and athletic, probably bigger than any other team that Steele will play this season. The play calling was suspect, execution was poor and turnovers and penalties (the hallmark trait of the Saenz era) were in abundance again. There might be talent on the offensive side of the ball but an anemic performance by the o-line prevented that from being seen. I will say it appears that there are quite a few sophomores on this squad and plenty of juniors too so this may have something to do with the play of the first game. Losing their promising RB from last year (who would have been a sophomore but broke his ankle and then transferred to Judson) was a big blow to RB depth and took away Steele's fastest back. On the defensive side, there are some players but the tackling left a lot to be desired and there were a lot of blown coverages. Honestly, this is the hardest Steele team to figure out and, in a season full of uncertainty, I really can't say whether this is a playoff contender or not. Hopefully, we'll know more about both Reagan and Steele after this one.

Think I'll go with the Steele prediction. Reagan started off pretty slow last year if memory serves me correctly.

should have gone with reagan. steele does not pass the eye test. their coaching staff is clueless and this steele team has no major threats on either offense of defense.

Just throwing this out there but I think this might be a year where NEISD is the stronger district in football. Reagan, Johnson, Brandeis all looked good. SV looked good, Judson and Steele not so much. Thoughts?

SV also looked pretty solid and seem to have a pretty good QB-and they're always well coached. Losing Battles added to the two starting DBs that transferred to Cornerstone didn't help Judson at all.
