Rockets and Cavaliers meet again. Maybe, just maybe 3rd time is the charm for the Rockets. LT is playing good ball right now so Rockets will have to play a mistake free game and cut way back on penalties to give themselves a shot.

You may be right, DJ, probably are, but I hope not.
To me, Lake Travis's success is based on precision routes run with precision timing and blocking. Precision this and precision that. Every player in every position relentlessly drilled to perfection.
As for me, I'd rather sit down in my front yard with a kitchen spoon and eat dirt for my supper.
I remember the banner run throughs at Mavs v Rockets games over the years. On the Rocket side every fan was on their feet whooping and hollering, the band was belting out lil liza jane, all the ooaches, trainers, and watergirls in a massive huddle with all the players around the twenty, every one of them jumping up and down and hollering. Wow! The whole community making a statement: We're the Judson Rockets, we play with great joy in who we are.
DJ, you guys just be Rockets. That's plenty damn good enough.

Amen to that maaavricks. Having two daughters who were on the Startlites for 3 years each we saw about 95%+ of all the Rockets games between '86 and '94. I haven't seen anything recently that compared to the atmosphere at those games. Missing D.W. Rutledge!!!!!!!

i'd love to see judson win, if for any other reason, also because the austin teams (well, LT and Westlake) have solidified themselves as the tier above the SA area teams. currently, it is Dallas and Houston at the top tier and Austin occupying that next level. it would be great to see the SA area teams start to surpass the Austin teams.like steele had more talent than westlake, judson has more talent than LT. but football is more than just talent. as DJ posted above, judson has to play error-free football and execute to perfection. if they can do that, i would love their chances. go rockets!

I really thought Judson had the muscle to win the region this year.

I think the passing game & QB play for both Westlake & LT was far better than both SA schools. Those recievers ran precise routes, were fast & both QB were very mobile. SA school's are not on the same level

SA school's are not on the same level It has been this way for many, many years already. Watching our local teams passing plays is much like watching Jr TYFA after watching LT run their offense. I have said this for years already!

I really thought Judson had the muscle to win the region this year. No doubt about it flow. No different than watching a Steele team with way more size and speed than WL get taken to the woodshed in the 1st round. HSFB is all about coaching. Yes, you must have some serious talent as well to win it all but the bottom line is coaching is at least 75% of it.

Yes. Austin is better. Granted, WL and LT have some huge advantages besides coaching. 1) they are very wealthy schools with state of the art facilities 2) the kids are weened from middle school on and have the benefit of not being separated at the high school level 3) i'm pretty sure these kids are going to the best off-season camps that money can buy. The result are teams with players that execute to perfection. They run crisp, clean routes. They do not drop passes. They do not make costly mistakes. They are never out of position. They can see plays happening before them. All of this translates to two teams that will consistently beat more athletic teams if those more athletic teams are handicapped by both bad coaching and limited resources. In the case of Steele, they definitely lack in the former and possibly in the latter.
