NB will never quit and I think is still slowly getting better and better. A win here could really help that Unicorn program out down the road with the rebuild

NB can win, but the odds are against them. Historically, NB has only beaten SV once since 1993.
As far as this year is concerned, NB will have to play near-error free ball to win. Turnovers have been an issue for the Unicorns this year. Multiple fumbled and thrown interceptions per game. Clean this up and the Unicorns have a real chance. After all, they did well enough against Clemens to be competitive.
Clemens probably doesn’t want NB winning this game. That would throw Clemens in D1.
Oh and speaking of NB winning, a simple win won’t get NB in the playoffs. Due to a potential tie with EC and SV, the Unicorns have to win by 10 or more points, depending on what the district cap is for tiebreakers. It’s a tough haul for NB.

Dang, I didn't realize there was a potential for a 3-way tie with a win here BNB. I wish NB well and hope they clean it up and get it done. And yes, NB was very competitive against SC this year for sure.

It was obvious from the onset that a playoff berth was out of the question for New Braunfels. The Unicorn would have to be content with a simple win. They almost got it. NB fell behind early and SV’s lead ballooned to 35-7 in the third quarter. But y’all should know better that NB doesn’t quit. QB Driggers led the Unicorns and cut the deficit to 35-28 late in the third quarter. Some extended drives by SV to burn the clock made the Unicorns exhaust their time outs in an effort to keep the clock from draining. Their efforts almost worked as the Unicorns got the ball with just under 2 minutes left and went frantically down the field with no time outs to tie the game. But NB fumbled at the end when it seemed like NB would pull it off and SV returned the fumble 80 yards and scored a final TD as time expired. Painful to watch. But it’s ok. An tie wouldn’t have guaranteed an NB win had they gone to OT. Oh well. Maybe next year. Thanks for the memories NB. You guys are champions in my book.
SV looked great. I wish the Rangers the best of luck next week against LT.
