The stars of Steele burn out once again and take 3 losses in a row against Malesky and his Panthers. Panthers have had 4 months to prepare for this game and no doubt they used every second. Preparedness, intensity, and speed of game will all favor the Panthers. Steele will stumble and hope someone makes a play to keep them in the game once they fall behind early. No game plan, just someone make a play. Take the Panthers by 7. ![](https://i.imgur.com/6ChmzFe.gif)

Glad the Knights were able to make some big plays and get the win. I am really not happy with our defensive play though. It seems we are still in the same boat as last year. I was curious about our RB situation also. I assume Thomas is injured. I really thought Stokes or Cloud would see some touches on offense since they looked good for the JV last year. Having said that the Freshman has lot of speed. Is he the next Stockton?
If any fellow Knights or Panthers are out there I would like to hear what you thought of the game. I think Steele may lose the battle of 3009 for the first time since they were a new school.

I was impressed with the way he carried the ball. He has a bit of 'nastiness' to his runs that I like and gets it done. He hits the hole hard and finishes off his runs. I was not very impressed at all with the rest of the running game though or the O-line play to this point. As far as defensively...…………...smdh

i actually thought the steele defense was pretty decent in this game and even showed off a freshman DE that looks to have a lot of potential. they gave up 30 points but broken down, 7 of that came on a TD which was a result of a fumble recovery on steele's 2 yard line, another 7 came on a freak play where the RB had the smarts to keep running when there was no whistle blown on what appeared to be a tackle but wasn't because he rolled off a defender, and another 7 came off getting the ball at the steele 35 yard line and then getting a 15 yard personal foul penalty added to a completed pass. more importantly, steele outscored o'connor 21-13 in the 2nd half. also, steele's secondary had three picks, which is already way ahead of last year's pace, and appears to have a bit of a pass rush this year. they also did a better job of stopping the run and that impacted o'connor's game plan, which was to repeat the same game plan of the last two years: run the ball, control the clock and mix in some trickery. because they were not as dominant running the ball, they weren't as capable of carrying out this game plan. and, for once, their trickery backfired as steele recovered that onside kick off attempt and ran it back for a TD. offense seemed less predictable and a bit more wide open this year and managed to offset the absence of both the starting RB and their best WR. wyatt was off and on but was under pressure quite often. the frosh RB was pretty impressive in his debut.
